Cast for Bodies at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Announced

Royal Court Jerwood Theatre has announced the cast for Vivienne Franzmann’s new play, Bodies.

Lorna Brown will star as Oni, Brian Ferguson as Josh, Philip Goldacre as David, and Salma Hoque as Lakshmi. Joining them are Justine Mitchell as Clem and Hannah Rae as Daughter.

The play follows a ‘global transaction that, over nine months, promises to offer a “lifetime of happiness” to all involved’.

After the success of Pests, Vivienne subsequently writes Bodies for the Royal Court Theatre. The show is directed by Jude Christian with set design by Gabriella Slade. It will run in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from 5th July until 12th August 2017. Meanwhile, Press night will be on 11th July 2017.

Meet the Bodies cast

Lorna Brown’s theatre credits include Oresteia (Almeida Theatre/West End), Little Light (Orange Tree), and Medea (National Theatre). She also appeared in several TV shows and films like Chewing GumHolby CityTrue LoveThe Lady in the Van, and Les Miserables.

Brian Ferguson performed in many theatre productions such as A Number (Edinburgh Lyceum), Oil (Almeida Theatre), and Anything that Gives Off Light (National Theatre of Scotland/The TEAM). His TV show credits include Trust Me (BBC1), Kiss Me First (E4/Netflix), and Line of Duty (BBC2). Brian was also in films The Current WarBeats, and Imagine that King, among others.

Philip Goldacre started his acting career in 1981 after leaving the Academy of Live Recording Arts (ALRA). His theatre work includes The Reappearance of Christ in the East End (White Bear Theatre), Broken Glass (National Theatre/West End/UK Tour), and Relatively Speaking (Edinburgh Festival Fringe/UK Tour). He was also in TV shows and films such as The Canterbury TalesThe BillThe Journey of Alfred SmallBoy & Wolf, and Snowman.

Salma Hoque has starred in several theatre productions including East is East (ATG/UK Tour), Multitudes (Tricycle Theatre), and Drawing the Line (Hampstead Theatre). Her television work consists of DoctorsFam (Pilot), and Holby City.
