Based on Brooks’ 1974 film, the story is about Frederick Frankenstein who inherits his grandfather’s castle in Transylvania. This production sees Brooks collaborating with director and choreographer Susan Stroman. In addition, music and lyrics are by Brooks, and the show’s book are by Brooks and Thomas Meehan.
About the cast
Hadley Fraser, who will play Frederick Frankenstein, made his West End debut as Marius in Les Misérables in 2010. In addition to numerous TV and stage appearances, he also starred in Hollywood movie The Legend of Tarzan as Tarzan’s father.
Stand-up comedian Ross Noble will star as the servant Igor. Aside from his improvised and surreal comedy, he is also well-known for his appearances on celebrity quiz shows. Furthermore, Noble has worked with Brooks in the past, having starred as Franz Liebkind in the 2015 UK Tour of Mel Brooks’ The Producers.
Meanwhile, Lesley Joseph, who will play as the housekeeper Frau Blucher, is an actress and broadcaster who is best known for playing Dorien Green in the popular sitcom Birds of a Feather. She also starred as the Wicked Queen in Theatre Royal, Plymouth’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Other members of the cast include Dianne Pilkington, Summer Strallen, and Patrick Clancy.
Also joining them are Imogen Brooke, Matt Crandon, Nathan Elwick, Kelly Ewins-Prouse, Andrew Gordon-Watkins, Sammy Kelly, Richard Pitt, Harriet Samuel-Gray, Gemma Scholes, Emily Squibb, Aron Wild, and Josh Wilmott.
