Comedy Club 4 Kids invites actual comedians to perform stand-up in front of children aged 6 and above. Using no rude words, many comedians have taken up the challenge to perform for kids. Some of the prominent names who have done these shows are James Acaster, Aisling Bea, and Alex Horne.
The club has become so successful that they also started holding stand-up comedy workshops for children and teenagers. Some of these kid comedians, like Mabel Read herself, even get to perform on one of the club’s shows.
About the lineup
Tiernan Douieb is Comedy Club 4 Kids’ resident MC. When he is not doing stand-up for children, his comedy style tends to take on a more satirical edge which mostly includes complaining about worldly political happenings in a friendly and funny manner. However, when in front of children, Tiernan mainly jokes about bogies and superheroes.
Meanwhile, Paul Duncan McGarrity is ‘the UK’s most foremost stand-up archaeologist’, as seen on BBC4’s The Big Dig. When he’s not doing his stand-up routine, you can find Paul at the Museum of London Archaeology where he works as a Senior Archaeologist. In his recent one-man show, Ask an Archaeologist, Paul sits in a room with an audience and answers their questions.
Lastly, Johnny Cochrane and Inel Tomlinson of Johnny & Inel are best known for their sketch series, CBBC’s The Johnny & Inel Show, the UK’s first black comedy double act, and the kids’ show Junior Vets on Call. Johnny created, wrote, and starred in The Johnny & Inel Show with Inel as his sidekick. In 2015, the duo joined the Fubar Radio team, hosting radio show Live and Loud, which airs every Thursday afternoon.
