Hayley Squires & More Join Sienna Miller in New West End Play

Hayley Squires is joining the cast of the upcoming West End run of Cat On a Hot Tin Roof. She will play Mae along with Brian Gleeson as Gooper, Lisa Palfrey as Big Mama, and Richard Hansell as Doctor. Meanwhile, Michael J Shannon will play as Reverend.

They will join the previously announced Sienna Miller, Jack O’ Connell, and Colm Meaney.

The award-winning play written by Tennessee Williams follows the story of a southern family who gathers at their plantation to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday. However lies, secrets, and sexual tension threaten to tear them apart.

Cat On a Hot Tin Roof is scheduled for a 12-week run at the Apollo Theatre beginning 13th July 2017 until 7th October 2017, with press night on 24th July.

About the newly announced cast

Hayley Squires is best known for her work in the 2016 film I, Daniel Blake. She also appeared in the TV series Call the MidwifeSouthcliffe, and Murder, as well as films ComplicitBlood Cells, and A Royal Night Out. Hayley received the nomination for the recent National Film Awards’ Best Breakthrough Performance.

Brian Gleeson’s most recent stage appearance was in The Weir at the Lyceum Theatre. His screen credits include Assassin’s CreedHistory’s Future, and Tiger Raid. Brian also appeared in TV shows RebellionStonemouth, and Quirke.

Welsh actress Lisa Palfrey performed in a number of stage productions including the original run of David Eldridge’s FestenThe Kitchen Sink, and Under the Blue Sky, the Iceman Cometh alongside Kevin Spacey. She also starred in films The Englishman Who Went up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain and House of America.

Meanwhile, Richard Hansell recently performed in LazarusA View from the Bridge, and Macbeth. He also appeared in And Then There Were None, The Doctors, and Miracle Landing on the Hudson.

Lastly, Michael J Shannon has starred in numerous plays, films, and TV series. Some of his stage credits include Delicate Balance (Nottingham Playhouse), The Price (Leicester Haymarket Theatre), and Ambassador (Broadway).
