School of Rock the Musical hits the West End

School of RockRocking up to the West End and making its musical debut is the all new School of Rock the Musical. This musical in London debuted yesterday, November 14th and is based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title. It also features some of the popular music from the film. Andrew Lloyd Webber, the amazing musical composer, has created 12 new songs for this debut west end show with lyrics by Glenn Slater.

Originally starring the famous Jack Black in the blockbuster hit, School of Rock follows the story of a schoolteacher who wants to be a rock star and forms a band with his students. David Fynn takes on the starring role in this musical as substitute teacher Dewey Finn. Andrew Lloyd Webber himself handpicked the young cast who work in three sets of thirteen, rotating nightly. Webber talked about how easy it was to find the young stars that bring the theatre show to life, making this one of the best shows in London and a must see this winter.
