West End Production of ‘Wicked’ Announced New Cast Members

The West End production of Wicked the Musical has announced new cast members, who will take over beginning 24th July 2017.

Alice Fearn will take over the role of Elphaba and Sophie Evans will star as Glinda. Other new cast members include Bradley Jaden, Melanie La Barrie, Andy Hockley, Jack Lansbury, and Laura Pick. Meanwhile, Martin Ball, Sarah McNicholas, and Carina Gillespie will continue playing their current roles, and current cast members will play their final performance on 22nd July.

Stephen Schwartz’s musical is now in its 11th year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and is booking until 26th May 2018.

Alice Fearn originally joined the West End production of Wicked in 2016 as standby for Elphaba. Her previous West End performances include Dirty Rotten ScoundrelsShrek the MusicalInto the WoodsLes Misérables, and The Woman in White.

Sophie Evans is well known for her role of Dorothy in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz, which ran from 2011 to 2012. She also performed in Lord of the Dance and films Pride and the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ instalment The World’s End.

Bradley Jaden was part of Wicked‘s recent international tour. He also played in Les MisérablesGhost the Musical, and Shrek the Musical.

Melanie La Barrie’s theatre credits include Everyman SeasonBreakfast at Tiffany’s, and The Lorax. She also appeared in BBC’s Anita and Eastenders, as well as feature film London Road.

Andy Hockley became famous when he performed as Monsieur Firmin in The Phantom of the Opera, which played at London’s Her Majesty’s Theatre and on the UK and Ireland tour. He most recently played as Grandpa Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Meanwhile, Jack Lansbury trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and will be making his West End debut in Wicked.

Finally, Laura Pick also graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a degree in Musical Theatre. Her other theatre credits include Anyone Can WhistleThe Sound of Music, and Anything Goes.
